Paraiso


I had the pleasure of working on the Paraiso map for Overwatch 2. This was a dream come true for me, since joining Blizzard, one of my wishes was to make a map set in my home country, so when the opportunity came, I embraced it with all I got.

My main responsibility was creating the architecture/tileables for the areas shown in the screenshots. I also did a lot of work polishing the level design early to ensure the map could play as well as possible. There was a lot of work done to make the simplistic architecture work, mainly by the talented prop & concept team, who filled the map with cool details. The soundwork in this map is phenomenal too, and really captures the vibe of being in Brazil during the carnival or the world cup.

In terms of architecture work, it was mainly split between me (Downtown and Favela areas, and art blockout for Lucio Club), Phil Wang and Daniel McGowan (area 3 finalization), and Philip Klevestav (all the backdrop vista/beach views).
