XTadium VR

Environments created for the XTadium Meta Quest 2 app by Yerba Buena VR.

YBVR contracted me to create a main hub, a sports room, and a video room for their 180/360 degree live sports app. When I took this job, I was a bit arrogant and thought I wouldn't need a concept artist. But the truth was that making something for the Quest 2 AND Unity turned out to be much harder than I anticipated, coming from an Unreal background. I had to spend a lot of time trying the different pipelines, debugging performance, creating shaders, etc... so when the deadline was fast approaching I enlisted the help of my trusted concept artist friend, Philippe Colin, who came to the rescue with sketches that helped me solidify the vision.

Next time you see a Quest 2 app and think it looks like poop, and you could do it better, think again, because this hardware should never have been released as a VR headset haha. There's a reason why most experiences look so simple :) Anyway, I'm happy with how this turned out, and you can play the app for free on the Meta store. Was a pleasure to work with the YBVR crew and a nice change of pace compared to my other works!
